Court says law permits gay joint adoptions

The Massachusettes Supreme Judicial Court ruled on Sept.10 that joint adoption does not require a legal marriage and same-sex couples are legally able to jointly adopt children. The case was filed by two women and the ruling now gives the couple full parental rights.
