Tijdens deze sessie kijken we naar de Nederlandse cultuur en de verschillen met andere culturen. Veel mensen vinden Nederlanders erg direct, met weinig hiërarchie en veel meningen in vergaderingen. Waarom is dit zo normaal in Nederland? 

Met de Culture Map en voorbeelden uit de praktijk leggen we verschillen uit in communicatie, leiderschap, feedback en besluiten nemen. Je leert waar dit gedrag vandaan komt en hoe je er beter mee omgaat op het werk en daarbuiten. 

De sessie is interactief, duidelijk en met humor. Veel situaties zijn herkenbaar. Na afloop begrijp je Nederlandse directheid beter en weet je hoe je hier prettig mee kunt werken. 

De spreker is Bram van der Lecq, organisatieadviseur en auteur van Start-up Factory. Daarnaast startte hij Our Utrecht, een lokaal stadsinitiatief dat focust op echte verhalen en lokale cultuur.

Discover Dutch culture and directness through clear examples, humor, and the Culture Map. Learn why the Dutch communicate the way they do. In this session, we explore Dutch culture and how it differs from other cultures. Many people find Dutch behavior surprising: very direct communication, little hierarchy, and open discussions in meetings. Why is this normal in the Netherlands? 

Using the Culture Map and practical examples, we explain key cultural differences in communication, leadership, feedback, and decision-making. You will learn where these habits come from and how to deal with them in work and daily life. 

The session is interactive, easy to follow, and includes humor and recognition. You will leave with a clearer understanding of Dutch directness and how to work with it instead of against it. 

The speaker is Bram van der Lecq, organizational advisor and author of Start-up Factory, a book about the culture of Haier. He also founded Our Utrecht, a local city tour initiative focused on real stories and local culture.
