English Storytime and Crafts: Akiti the Hunter
Join us for English storytime and a creative activity with Denise Williams, author of the Akiti the Hunter series.
This interactive storytime event includes a live reading from Akiti the Hunter, followed by a fun discussion and a creative activity. Children will explore themes of bravery, culture, and imagination while drawing, writing, or sharing their own ideas inspired by the story. It’s engaging, educational, and lots of fun!
This activity is best suited for children between 5 and 10 years old. The activities are adabtable for younger and older children.
This activity is free of charge. All are welcome, no signup required.
About Akiti the Hunter
Akiti the Hunter is an exciting adventure about a brave young boy named Akiti who uses courage, kindness, and wisdom to protect his village. Guided by lessons from his ancestors and the natural world, Akiti learns that being a true hero means helping others, making good choices, and believing in yourself.
About the author
Denise Mobolaji Ajayi Williams, known to young readers as Author Bolaji Ajayi, is an award-winning children’s author and cultural educator. She created Akiti the Hunter to inspire confidence, creativity, and a love of reading while introducing children to African folklore and storytelling traditions.
