Also thanks to your support, the Amsterdam Public Library can provide access to a world of information, inspiration and pleasure (the collection includes more than a million books, CDs, DVDs and magazines from no less than 100 different countries) across Amsterdam and online.

The Amsterdam Public Library challenges the city’s residents to embark on a journey of lifelong learning. To this end, we offer facilities for work and study, homework, study guidance and language cafés. All 28 individual library locations serve as a meeting place where everyone is welcome, be it to read a book or magazine, to meet with friends or simply relax with a newspaper of your choice. 

The library offers children so much to learn about and discover. Our activity areas organise workshops, performances and special sessions for reading aloud on a weekly basis at all our locations. The Amsterdam Public Library organises activities in cooperation with local residents and partners, providing a perfect setting to meet or learn about new things.
