Enjoy your weekend with the free Sunday morning concerts by students of the Conservatorium Amsterdam at OBA Oosterdok! This week a piano solo by Apollon Kalamenios from Cyprus.
Apollon Kalamenios is pianist, violinist and composer, born in Nicosia, Cyprus. He's currently studying classical piano with prof. David Kuyken at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a pianist, he has represented Cyprus abroad and has received masterclasses by various artists, such as Andreas Frölich, Dejan Lazić, Janusz Olejniczak, Miguel Ituarte and Mikhail Voskresensky. He also likes performing as a collaborative pianist and has worked with Nobuko Imai, accompanying her masterclasses. Concerning composition, having lessons with Meriç Artaç and Maya Verlaak since he joined the Conservatorium, Apollon has presented his works in festivals in Cyprus, as well as in the Netherlands, collaborating with musicians, as well as with visual artists.
